- All purpose flour, 500g
- Sugar, 100g
- Instant Yeast, 9g
- Salt, 5g
- Whole Milk, 120g
- Unsalted Butter, 60g
- Eggs, 100g (2 pcs)
- COFFEE CRISP Spread®, 210g
- COFFEE CRISP® Crushed, 120g
- Milk chocolate crisp pearls, 15g
-
1In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Mix well.
-
2In a small saucepan, heat the milk until it is warm but not boiling. Remove from heat and add the melted butter. Stir until the butter is fully incorporated.
-
3In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Add the beaten eggs to the milk and butter mixture, and whisk until well combined.
-
4Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
-
5Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
-
6Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
-
7Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release any air bubbles. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it out to a thickness of about 1.25 centimeters.
-
8Use a donut cutter or a round cookie cutter to cut out donut shapes. Use a smaller cutter to remove the center of each donut, creating the classic ring shape.
-
9Place the cut-out donuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover them with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.
-
10In a large, deep pot, heat vegetable oil to a temperature of 175°C (350°F).
-
11Carefully drop a few donuts into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry each side for about 2-3 minutes, until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove the donuts from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
-
12Repeat the frying process with the remaining donuts.
-
13Once the donuts have cooled slightly, dip them into the COFFEE CRISP Spread and then directly into a mix of COFFEE CRISP Crushed and milk chocolate crips pearls! Voila!
Handle the dough with care, like it's a delicate dance partner. Avoid overworking it, as that can lead to tough and dense donuts. Lightly flour your surface and rolling pin, then roll the dough gently and evenly. When cutting out the donut shapes, be quick and clean, like a donut ninja.
