A Chef's Guide to Minor's® Products

Read along to discover our Chef's guide to using Minor's® products, including his own tips and tricks as well as recipe concept ideas to help you expand your menu offerings.

A Chef’s Take on the Advantage of the Minor’s® Brand

Minor's® Bases are all about delivering exceptional flavour, taste, and quality. Our secret? It starts with the first ingredient, which always matches the product label – like our Chicken Base, made with real chicken as the primary ingredient. This might seem like a no-brainer, but not all bases on the market can say the same.

What sets Minor's® Flavour Concentrates apart is that they replicate the authentic flavours chefs create in their own kitchens, without the variations that come from varying ingredients and inconsistent labour. That's the distinguishing factor that makes Minor's products stand out.

Benefits of Using Ready-to-Eat Products in your Kitchen

The initial purpose of ready-to-eat (RTE) products was to offer convenience and ensure food safety, eliminating the need to bring the products to a temperature of 74°C / 165°F. However, one of the most significant advantages of RTE products is the newfound flexibility and versatility they provide to chefs. With RTE products like Minor's® Lobster Base, you can effortlessly craft a delectable lobster aioli because there's no need for cooking. But that's just the beginning; you can also create dressings, marinades, dips, and an endless variety of culinary creations, aside from creating an outstanding Lobster Bisque.

To make your culinary journey even more exciting, we've developed a tool called the +1 Matrix. This resource is packed with a multitude of ideas for using Minor's® Bases and Flavour Concentrates to create a wide range of components for diverse dishes.

Soup Bases Made Easy

Our Minor’s® Bases can also serve as fantastic soup bases for your menu. Each tub of Minor's® Base produces a generous 18 liters of high-quality stock. This has a tremendous advantage for chefs: it ensures consistent flavour in their recipes every single time, eliminating worries about variations in stock preparation or differences in how the team operates.

Chef Rick’s Favourite Minor's® Product

My personal favourite Minor’s® product is Minor's® Roasted Garlic Flavour Concentrate. I find it to be incredibly versatile and use it in numerous applications.

Whether I'm mixing it with Extra Virgin Olive Oil to brush the crust of a pizza or flatbread, infusing it into cooked red skin potatoes to create a delectable roasted garlic mashed dish, crafting a bold Roasted Garlic Caesar Dressing, or incorporating it into my cherished marinara sauce or butter to add flavourful accents to finished plates – it never disappoints.
