Make it with Minor's Recipe Competition

Nestlé Professional’s MINOR’S brand presented a “Make it with Minor’s” culinary competition, where Canadian chefs from the Culinary Federation participated for a chance to display their recipe at the 2023 Culinary Federation National Conference.

Last month, we hosted the highly anticipated "Make It with Minor's" Recipe Contest, inviting 50 talented Culinary Federation chefs across Canada to display their culinary brilliance and creativity for a chance to win a trip to the 2023 Culinary Federation National Conference in Niagara Falls.

To win the contest, participating chefs had to create a unique and mouth-watering new dish featuring MINOR'S New Fire Roasted Poblano Concentrate. Our chefs had the opportunity to work with our new MINOR'S concentrate which offers premium quality ingredients and guarantees consistency and superior quality. With the added benefit of reducing preparation time, our Fire Roasted Poblano Concentrate allowed the chefs to focus on dialing in a perfect balance of ingredients to really make the Poblano flavour shine.

The competing chefs were tasked with incorporating the ingredient in both an unheated signature condiment such as a sauce or topping, as well as in a hot cooking application.

Our panel of judges whittled down the entries to five finalists:

  • Vincent Capitano – from the Culinary Federation in Victoria with Birria Tacos with Fire Roasted Poblano Jus and Fire Roasted Poblano Crema

Dacyion Reid of the Culinary Federation in Toronto came out on top with her Clam & Corn Croquettes with Fire Roasted Poblano Horseradish Aioli. Her dish delivered on flavour, uniqueness, creativity with our MINOR'S concentrate, and operational efficiency.

We are thrilled to announce that she will be joining us on June 6th at the 2023 Culinary Federation National Conference in Niagara Falls, where she will be displaying her recipe at the Culinary Federation Supplier Showcase. We invite you to stop by and try Chef Dacyion’s award-winning dish! Can’t make it to Niagara Falls? We’ve got your back.
