Preparation & Storage

Preparation

Product can be heated from frozen or thawed. Thawing Instructions: Product MUST be thawed under REFRIGERATION (40°F/4°C maximum). Thawed product should be used within 48 hours. Do not refreeze thawed product. Heating without Pouch. If frozen, cut top and side of pouch and place concentrate in large pot. If thawed, cut top and empty concentrate into large pot. Add 1.8 L/64 fl. oz. of water to soup concentrate in pot. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to simmer or transfer to steamtable insert. Stir occasionally. Heating in Pouch: Place plastic pouch in 185°F-190°F(85°C-90°C) water in double boiler or water bath (Note: Higher than recommended temperature for the water increases internal pressure on pouch which can lead to small holes / leakers.) Do not overcrowd. When pouch is placed in water, wait for water to return to temperature before timing. Heating time from thawed: 45-55 minutes or until internal temperature of product is 165F/75C. Heating time from frozen: 70-80 minutes or until internal temperature of product is 165°F/75°C. Prior to opening, gently shake pouch. Place soup concentrate in large pot (Note: Total Yield 3.6 L/128 fl. oz.) Add 1.8 L (64 fl. oz.) of hot water (165°F/75°C) and stir. (If cold water is added, stir and heat reconstituted soup to 165°F/75°C). Because equipment varies, these instructions are guidelines only.
